A Weekend in London

Our recent weekend in London with friends!

We recently visited London to see our friends, and we were so lucky to get pretty good weather all weekend to explore. London is one of my favourite cities in the UK, it's so vast with so many different things to see and do!

We landed into Heathrow on the Friday night, and had "British Tapas" as my friend Rio called it (Camembert, garlic dough balls and pigs in blankets!).
The next day our London trip kicked off with a visit to the Leake Street arches, where eye-catching street art lives in the centre of London. This is a tunnel leading out to near the London Eye, and it's filled with beautiful murals and artwork from various different street artists. Whilst we were there, we even got to see people working on their art which was so interesting, I genuinely am in awe of how talented street artists are!

We also went to the American diner Passyunk Avenue, which is a restaurant and dive bar. They do Philly-style sandwiches, wings, nachos and even soda floats! The food was top tier and a great start to eating our way around London.

We headed round to Southbank where I managed to get a few shots on my camera (the feature photo being one of them!) and we walked through the Christmas Markets there for a mulled wine! They were packed out so we didn't spend much time there and headed on through London to the famous Borough Markets. The markets are a testament to the city's rich and culinary heritage. The market has been there for thousands of years and even dates back to the 11th century! Anyway, enough about history, the real star of the show here is Bread Ahead and their amazing Creme Brûlée donuts. Our friends were craving these and took us round to try them out, there was a queue outside (always a sign of a great place!) but it didn't last long, we were in there to order within around 15 minutes. You can see more on this place in my Instagram reel here.

We headed back home to our friend's flat for the football and most importantly to put our feet up after walking 10K steps! Before heading out to the Hawk's Nest for dinner. I really liked the vibe of this place, it was super busy but it didn't feel too squished which is always good! They had a live DJ and the BEST pizza. We all ordered the double pepperoni pizza with spicy honey, it was INCREDIBLE. Still dreaming about the spicy honey and need to find a similar one in Manchester! We had a couple of cocktails here before moving on to Soho House. Our friends are members there as we would have never gotten in otherwise :D.

Soho House is a private members' club that originated in London and has since expanded globally. Over the years, Soho House has become a brand with exclusive and chic venues that cater to a diverse community of artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals. It has a relaxed vibe, great service and was a nice break away from busy London where you can lounge on the couches, have a drink, and catch up in a quieter environment.

And that's a wrap! We spent our Sunday relaxing and eating before heading to Heathrow airport! Unfortunately our flight was delayed so we had to spend a LONG time there but fortunately it is one of the better airports to get stuck in with lots of shops, a Wagamama's and some bars!
